Getting Ready to Leave

Dear friends,

keep-calm-and-wait-110-days110 days and we leave for Hungary! We are really excited that we will be able to serve with Word of Life in just a few months, see family and friends, but we are also very sad to leave the wonderful people we got to know here. Our church became our family and we will miss them dearly.

This past month we did a lot of packing. As we get closer and closer to our departure date, we have more and more things we have to take care of. We hope to be able to do it one thing at a time and not have to rush. We are so thankful to my parents who are helping us with all the paperwork we will need to fill out and apply for in Hungary. We have a lot to be grateful for!

DSCF1454Amy only has 2 and a half months left of Kindergarten and she cannot wait for summer break. She loves her teacher, but she is over the thrill of going to school so now she is ready to stay home and play more. 🙂

Haley is more and more independent, but she is still very shy when we leave the house. It’s interesting to watch our goofy, active, talkative child turn into this extremely shy little girl who wouldn’t say a word when we are out. I hope this phase will pass soon.

IsabelleUnfortunately the past few days were very hard for our church family. Our pastor’s 2-year old daughter is at Riley Children’s Hospital, awaiting diagnosis. They’ve been there for 5 days now. Please pray that God would heal sweet Isabelle and for wisdom for the doctors as well as for the parents. They also have a 4-year old. I can’t imagine how hard it must be emotionally to them, but they trust in God and His goodness.
UPDATE: As of 5 pm today (03/15/2017), Isabelle does NOT have leukemia as the doctor’s initially thought. To put it into perspective, 98% of kids with Isabelle’s symptoms and blood counts have leukemia. They are in the 2%. Praise God!
UPDATE #2: On 4/19/2017 Isabelle was diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia). Please continue to pray for the family, and this sweet 2 year old. May God give them strength as they go through this.

“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16).
