Dear Friends,
We are super excited, camp season started this past week! Amy was a camper this first week, and she loved it. She did baseball again, just like last year, but from what I heard, she actually has gotten better! This year she was with two of her best friends, Madelin and Gracie and they even shared a dorm. We are so glad she gets to go each year, and in a couple of years Haley will be also old enough to join.
While we are not officially part of camp this year, the kids and I like to go in to at least the Bible hour each day. It’s so nice to be able to see the campers, volunteers, and how God is working there. It’s also a prayer request. Please pray for wisdom, strength, patience, love, and unity for the whole summer staff. We also pray for safety every week, because we believe God is able to protect each one of our campers and we’ve experienced this ever since camp started 30 years ago.
We had a blessed first week, but we also faced some challenges. We want to be good testimonies and examples to our campers, and we want to make sure they know how much we love them. We appreciate prayers for the leadership, as they have to make some hard decisions sometimes and they need God’s wisdom to do so.
This year’s theme is SUPERHEROS. The decoration is very cool and the dorms are named after the places some of these superheros live (which means I can neither pronounce nor remember the names of the dorms). 🙂 Amy was in Wakanda, which I learned is where Black Panther lives. I have no idea who or what Black Panther is. 🙂 But it’s definitely a fun theme and the campers really enjoy it.
We will have a full camp these coming couple of weeks (at least), which means a lot of campers will have the opportunity to hear about God. Please pray for open hearts, understanding, and decisions. I cannot wait to update you next month on how many campers we had, how many chose to put their trust in God and how many dedicated their lives to the Lord.
We appreciate your prayers!
