Dear Friends,
Blessed New Year!
As we start a new year, our prayer is that we would rely on God and trust Him more and more. So many things happen that we don’t understand, and we want to learn to truly trust Him despite our circumstances. We know that He knows best and that nothing happens without His knowledge, so we want to act according to this.
Sometimes even the things we know so well are so hard to follow. Unfortunately I often find myself doing the opposite of what I honestly believe in. I can so relate to Paul when he says, “For I do not understand what I am doing; for I am not practicing what I want to do, but I do the very thing I hate. ” (Romans 7:15)
One of my biggest struggles is being patient with the kids. Something I thought I was doing so well in, that is, before I had children. 😀 I know I should be patient with them, I firmly believe I should be patient with them, I want to be patient with them, and yet I catch myself being impatient almost daily. If you remember, please pray with me that God would help me change in this area.
I am so thankful for our God who is more patient than I could ever even imagine. He is such a wonderful example to us in every way. He isn’t just asking us to be one way, He is that way as well. He is asking us to follow Him. How encouraging is that!
As we start this new year, may we focus on Him, follow Him, rely on Him, trust Him! To Him be the glory!
