Dear Friends,
The last week of camp started today, and we want to finish well. It’s been a wonderful, but tiring summer.
Chris had the privilege to teach English for a couple of weeks, share a message two nights, share his testimony one week, and to help with the sound for a few weeks.
It’s been amazing to be part of the camp team, they are very sweet, mature, godly people. I felt like I was truly part of a team. Camp registration started in January, and after 7 months, this chapter ends. It’s been wonderful to talk to so many parents, campers, listen to their stories of how much this camp means to them. We had campers from the States, England, Germany, the Ukraine, Romania, Slovakia, and of course Hungary. Since I was a camper here at age 15, I understand why it’s so special to them. This camp is like nothing else I’ve experienced. It’s fun, it’s loud, it’s full of programs, but it also focuses on God. I understood God’s love for me at this camp, and now I have the privilege to serve here.
Fun story: back in the day, our current camp director was Chris’ camper and the camp director’s assistant (who is also supervising our female summer staff) was my camper. Yes, we are old. 🙂
As camps are ending, we are focusing on the BI and Chris is working on getting our new students here by the beginning of school year. As you can imagine, it’s a challenge as unfortunately COVID still makes it difficult for people to just simply enter the country and we have students from many different countries, which may mean many different regulations concerning them.
Please pray for wisdom as Chris is trying to understand the regulations and figure out which student can enter with what documents, and who needs what, etc. He’s been helped by our legal team, and he is extremely thankful for their help, as a lot of these things can be complicated.
We are excited for the students who signed up for this coming school year, and hope they will all make it.
Thank you for your prayers and support!
